Jenny and OIi // Hawkley, Liss

Pheweeee - it’s been a cool minute since I last wrote something in here, and not just because of a world pandemic! We’ve been shooting like crazy recently and finding time among the culling, editing, uploading, downloading, emailing, housebuying and selling, and a million other things - blogging has been a bit on the back burner.

Nevertheless, here’s one from one of our first weddings this year - Jenny and Oli hosting a micro wedding during the end of lockdown down in the Village Hall in Hawkley near Liss in the South Downs National Park. A classic tale of postponements as with every wedding it seems - they finally made the commitment to tie the knot despite the circumstances and we had a bloody blast!

These two are such wonderfully kind and generous people, and it was incredible to see how they managed to pull it all together (with some aid from Abigail - www.bowlofcorksweddings.co.uk). I hadn’t seen a parachute used for decoration before today, and I doubt I’ll see another one soon!

I loved the classic style to this day - from the dress, hair, and flowers to the old school mini that Jenny took to the church. The whole day felt like a real village celebration with Jenny’s family steeped in the village community. On arrival there must have been an additional 50 people stood on the road to welcome her! Where costs were saved on a larger day they were most definitely invested into the incredible food from peapod and co who absolutely smashed it throughout. The whole thing was topped by a fantastic fireworks display and a sparkler send off for the ages.
