Caspar & Lucy’s Black Tie Garden Party Wedding at Bingham Riverhouse
A Very London Wedding
Tucked away in Richmond, with garden views over the Thames, Bingham Riverhouse offers a slice of calm, quiet luxury right in the heart of London. For Caspar & Lucy, it was the perfect backdrop for their wedding – a day that blended timeless black tie elegance with the relaxed, easy charm of an English garden party.
If you’re dreaming of a London wedding that feels refined and cultured but never stuffy, this one’s for you.
A Story of Two Mornings
Storytelling is such an important part of how we work, and capturing both sides of morning preparations is always something we’re keen to do. It’s those little in-between moments – the glances, the laughs, the pacing – that we love to capture.
Both Caspar & Lucy got ready at Bingham Riverhouse – and in a way - both experiences were small manifestations of their personalities. Downstairs, staged in the first floor bar, Caspar and the boys shared food, drinks, and a fair dose of nervous anticipation - there was a sense of camaradarie and of keeping the outside world at bay, so he could stay grounded and supported by his friends
Upstairs, Lucy was the picture of calm, surrounded by her closest friends as she prepared to walk down the aisle.
Modern Elegance with a Vibrant Twist
Lucy looked effortlessly chic in her Andrea Hawkes Bridal dress – a beautifully minimalist design with forearm-length sleeves, a button-up back, and the most graceful silhouette. Paired with her Bianco Evento veil and classic Rainbow shoes, her look was subtle, quiet, and stunning. The bridesmaids echoed the elegant vibe in dark navy dresses, creating a timeless palette that let the florals pop.
And those florals!
Holly and the Dragonfly designed some stunning bouquets filled with bold reds and warm yellows that brought a bright energy and vibrance to the styling, a perfect counterpoint to the black tie. That balance of elegance and personality really set the backdrop of the day - and the consideration that goes into that is utterly down to Lucy and Caspars vision of the day.
A Ceremony Filled with Emotion
With the river glistening beyond the gardens, family and friends gathered as Lucy made her entrance. Caspar’s face seemed to run the gammut of emotion. Nerves, joy, and that smile as they locked eyes halfway down the aisle.
Those are the moments I live for!
Their ceremony was intimate, heartfelt, and thoughtful.
The kiss and cheer at the end? Everything.
Golden Hour by the River
As the ceremony room was turned around for dinner, guests spilled out into the gardens for drinks and some live jazz, complete with saxophone, double bass, and guitar. The atmosphere was relaxed and elegant – like the best kind of summer evening gathering, just elevated.
And then came golden hour. The sun dipped through the trees, casting a soft dappled light across the gardens and made for one of my favourite couples’ portraits of all time – simple, iconic, ridiculously stylish, and ultimately timeless.
Dinner, Speeches, and Black Tie Magic
The reception was everything you’d want from a black tie celebration – sophisticated but never stiff. Guests in cocktail dresses and tuxedos, heartfelt speeches under the canopy, and that feeling of being in a little oasis, with London life humming quietly beyond the trees.
What struck me most was how considered every element was, without losing sight of what matters – connection, emotion, joy. The small gestures, the knowing looks, the warm hugs between friends and family… it was a day full of beautiful stories.
